If any of you have a few bucks to spare you might want to consider this:
Mangoes don't just taste great, they can also save the planet! As each mango tree grows quickly in a tropical environment, it absorbs carbon dioxide, which will contribute towards the cooling of the atmosphere.
Now an ingenious scheme has been created which helps plant mango trees as a way of offsetting your own carbon emissions.
If you offset your carbon emissions through the Teach-A-Man-To-Fish, project you will help schools in Kenya plant Mango Orchards, teach students how growing fruit trees can reduce poverty and help schools generate an income to put towards their running costs.
After each mango harvest, income generated from the orchard is reinvested in the school – paying for such things as buying books, repairing roofs and subsidising fees for AIDS orphans. If you make a one-off donation, your support will bear fruit year after year after year.
Then money really will go to planting Mango trees, and will help change people’s lives as well as suck CO2 from the atmosphere:
