On Saturday 23rd February, the public are invited to join with The Wilderness Society, in creating a huge human surf circle off Scarborough Beach.
This giant surf circle will represent a demonstration of community support for the protection of our marine environment – through the creation of a secure network of marine protected areas and sanctuary zones in WA.
The event will start at 10.00am on Scarborough Beach , just near the amphitheatre, and finish at approximately 12 noon.
We are asking people to bring a surfboard or something to float on; everyone will then paddle out past the break and create a human circle.
There will be also be a marine information display, face painting and refreshments following the Surf Circle, with the opportunity to talk with staff from The Wilderness Society about threats to our marine environment and what we can do.
So bring a friend, and a board - and we’ll see you at Scarborough beach on 23rd of February!
Contact The Wilderness Society on 9420 7255 for further details.
