Hey I'm Ben and new to being a vegetarian.

Just wondering where I can look for vegetarian/vegan shops, supermarkets. Are there any in Perth.

Also does anyone know where I can find food recipes that are cheap and quick?

Does anyone have any recipe suggestions.

Thanks.
Ben.

Hey Ben,
PAWS itself (112-114 Beaufort st, Northbridge) is a great resource, mostly for vegan and allergy-friendly foods, and any of the 'staff' can help with any questions you might have, either by answering them or pointing you in the right direction.

It sucks being a veg*n alone, and networking is a great way to get educated and start to feel comfortable with your new lifestyle.

You might find Friday nights or the Saturday market day at PAWS are a good way to get to know the regulars and other vegetarians and vegans. On Friday food is served between 7 and 9 pm, and on Saturdays there's an organic grower's market and lunch is usually served around 12.30pm :)

For recipes, check out The Vegetarian Society's Easy Recipes for New Vegetarians and PETA's vegetarian starter kit (until PAWS' gets published...!)

Hey thanks for posting that very useful information. I live in the city so PAWS is not that close from where I live. I will be sure to pop in their and have a look. Do they have a good food selection? The market sounds wonderful. Will check it out.

Thanks heaps!
